A Little About Me
Hello! My name is Allison Eckert, and welcome to my website. I am studying computer information systems and learning how to build websites, write programs, and work with databases. This website is a place where I can introduce myself and share the projects I create throughout my coursework. Learning technology has shown me that even a simple webpage involves many small decisions. File names, folder locations, links, and HTML tags all have a purpose. Some parts take practice, and I do not always get everything right on the first try. However, working through those problems helps me understand what the computer is doing. I want this site to show my progress as I gain experience and become more comfortable with the tools. Each assignment gives me another opportunity to build something, test it, and learn from the results. My goal is to keep improving one step at a time while developing skills that I can use beyond the classroom.
One thing that interests me about technology is how it can help people complete everyday tasks. A useful website can organize information, explain a service, or make it easier for someone to find what they need. A program can handle repetitive work, and a database can keep related information organized. I am exploring how those pieces fit together. As I continue learning, I want to create projects that are clear, practical, and easy for other people to use. I also want to understand the code behind my work so I can make changes and solve problems with more confidence. This portfolio will grow alongside my skills. The About page will include more information and a table, the Contact page will provide a form, and the CIS515 Projects area will organize my course projects. Thank you for visiting and taking a look at what I am building. I look forward to adding more work and seeing how much I can learn throughout this course.
